ABAP Developer

Summary

ScanSource is looking to hire a developer to work as part of our SAP development team. This team is leading the effort to fully leverage SAP, Microsoft Azure, Azure Dev Ops and related technologies to drive solutions and address opportunities.

A qualified candidate will have a team-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of best practice, object-oriented software development utilizing Agile methodologies. Including architectural design, coding, debugging, unit testing, release management, documentation, while refining and maintaining existing processes.

In addition to technical skills, a good candidate will show a strong ability to work both independently and on/with teams to communicate, collaborate and implement solutions.

Essential Job Duties

• Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions
• Communicate effectively with a globally distributed team
• Provide detailed level of effort estimates for proposed solutions
• Articulate benefits, alternatives and implications to a solution’s feasibility and functionality
• Develop, test, and document working solutions, integrations, and data migrations utilizing SAP ABAP and Microsoft Azure
• Contribute to code quality standards by performing solution and code reviews
• Continuous improvement of platforms and processes
• Update and maintain Azure Environment for multiple integrated systems
• Integrate multiple systems, including internal proprietary and third-party applications

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with courses in technology-related disciplines in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field
• Strong communication/English language skills (verbal and written)
• Strong problem-solving, analysis, and debugging skills
• Understanding of software development lifecycles, planning, and implementation

• Experience in Agile software development with iterative development methodologies

• 5+ years of experience in the following fields and/or related applications:
  • SAP ABAP Development
    • Strong ABAP language skills
    • SD/MM/FICO/FSCM Experience
    • Classes, Methods, BADI, BAPI
    • IDOC, API/Proxy Integration
    •  
• 3+ years of experience in the following fields and/or related applications:
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform Technologies
  • .Net, Web API, Azure Functions, Logic Apps
  • Significant experience writing code in C#, particularly for Azure Functions, App Services
  • Unit testing experience utilizing automation
  • Handling data files in a variety of formats, such as JSON, XML, CSV
  • GIT and Azure DevOps and knowledge of how to set up CI/CD pipelines

• S/4 HANA/FIORI
• Distribution industry experience
• Knowledge of Azure identity, security, access management
